Dr Tim Berry MBChB, BMedSci (hons), FRANZCP is a medical doctor who specialises in treating people with mental health difficulties. He completed his medical degree in the UK before relocating to Australia in 2007 where he undertook specialist psychiatric training in some of the largest teaching hospitals in Sydney. He has been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 2013.

Dr Berry’s qualifications include MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine), BMedSci (hons) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Alongside his private work, Dr Berry is the director of a large acute adult inpatient unit where he leads a team of psychiatrists and junior medical staff.

Dr Berry is expertly trained in diagnosing and treating mental illness. He is passionate about high quality patient care and strives to help patients achieve their full potential in life, work and relationships through a combination of biological, psychological and other therapies. He has a particular interest in treating mood disorders (including major depressive episodes and bipolar affective disorder), anxiety disorders (including general anxiety, social anxiety and OCD) and psychoses. He also diagnoses and treats ADHD in adults and is a member of the RANZCP ADHD Network.

Services provided

Dr Berry provides a range of psychiatric services generally via video conferencing, including:

  • one-off assessments with a detailed report and treatment plan for the patient and their GP (291 assessments);

  • ongoing private care;

  • adult ADHD assessments; and

  • medico-legal assessments.

Dr Berry does not take on patients receiving care funded by WorkCover.


Process

The assessment process is as follows:

  • You get in touch - our contact page gives you a few different ways to do this.

  • We contact you (usually within 2-3 business days) to discuss your needs, our fees and appointment times.

  • If you want to proceed, we schedule an appointment with Dr Berry.

  • You complete some paperwork and pay a deposit.

  • Following the appointment we provide you/your GP with any written report (generally within 7-14 days).

Is Dr Berry accepting new patients?

Unfortunately, Dr Berry is not taking on new patients at this time.

Where will the appointment take place?

Appointments are generally via video conferencing. This means patients can access support from the comfort and privacy of their own home (or other suitable location).

Do I need a GP referral?

A GP referral is required to claim any applicable Medicare rebate.

How much will it cost?

Appointments are privately billed. Most appointments attract a Medicare rebate for eligible patients. Out of pocket expenses vary but typical range from between $200-$380 per appointment.
